Schedule Changes after deadline (1 unit course)

How easy is it to change your schedule when you contact the dean?

I mainly want to switch out of a one unit internship course to another internship course since I didn't really get accepted to that one (they still let me take it since I'm short one unit). The other internship that I applied for got back to me last night so I was wondering how easy is it to switch out of one course to another (even though they're just 1 unit since I'm not trying to change any core classes).

Any suggestions? Sorry if the post was confusing!

PS- I saw this on the registrar website:
"Deadline to drop without notation on transcript
(Chemistry, Letters & Science only) September 23"... does that mean if somehow this does work out, there still will be a notation on my transcript regarding the original internship course?

Thanks!

Talk to your counselor.
I was in the same situation (1 unit classes) and my counselor told me that it would be fairly easy to switch classes (adding a class and dropping a similar one) if you have a compelling reason. If it’s your first semester here, then they’re even more lenient.

You just have to go through a bunch of paperwork, which is a bit tedious. I’m not sure about the notation though (I didn’t end up dropping the class). Good luck!

Alright, thank you very much! This might be a lame question, but where can I meet up with the counselor regarding my schedule (L&S)? I was not here for Calso, so I’m not familiar with the counseling system here at Cal yet :(!

Can anyone verify regarding the notation policy? I’m worried it might be an issue on my transcript!

L&S advising is on the second floor of Evans.
