Schedule Conflict

I have a conflict in my schedule for next year (upcoming senior). I took Korean 1 at my school in my freshman year, then jumped to Korean 3 my sophomore year. Because of another schedule conflict, I couldn't take Korean 4 Honors my junior year. I signed up for Korean 5 Honors this coming year, as well as English Lit AP and Calc BC AP. Now here's the tricky part; Korean 5 Honors is a 2nd period only class, and Calc BC is a 3rd period only class. AP Lit is only 2nd and 3rd period. I am definitely keeping Calc BC and am not willing to get rid of it.

My question is- should I take Korean 5 Honors or AP Lit? Before you say that I should take Lit because it is an AP class, consider this please; I only have two years of a foreign language and am planning to apply to many privates and top publics (i.e. USC, UCB, Boston College, NWU, Vanderbilt, etc.) If I take K5H, I will have 3 years of a language, but is that even that important? Is it worth taking only 2 years of a language and taking AP Lit?

Much thanks ahead of time; I'm hopelessly lost and my counselor is useless. Thank you.

Honestly I think it depends on what you want to major in. I plan on majoring in bio, so I dropped Italian after 3 years. If you are really worried about only having two years, you could contact the admissions at those schools and ask their opinion. Also, my school has something called independent study, where you basically teach yourself. You could do that for Korean, if your school has a a similar option. You could also take it during next summer, before college. Just a few options, hope they helped!

You should probably check the admissions requirements at the schools you want to apply too just to make sure that you don’t need more than two years of language. If that is the case then I definitely recommend taking AP Lit.

Have you already taken two years of a language (is Korean the second foreign language you’re taking)?

Oh my God if my school had Korean I would kill myself that is amazing.

@CSIHSIS: I think my school has Chinese…
