Schedule Conflicts.

As of now I'm planning really far ahead for next fall when I'm a senior. I have to take "Advisory" which is basically a group therapy class required at my school. I also have to take Japanese 4 as four years of a language is required and I want to major in it. I want to stay in Journalism because I'm an EIC, and I also want to take AP English Lit because humanities > sciences. My principal told me next year there's going to be AP Comparative Govt and I looked it up and it sounds perfect for my second major, IR. Then there's AP Bio and AP Calc AB.

So:
Japanese
Advisory
AP Gov
AP English
Journalism
AP Calc
AP Bio
Gym (yea... also required...)

That's 8 classes in an 8 period day, so I'm going to have to get rid of one because of lunch as no other classes are offered that period. This is where I'm stuck. I want to take AP Bio/Calc so I can skip those classes in college, but I also want to take all the others because they relate to what I want to do in college. What should be my order of classes that I'll knock out? And which is the better class, AP Bio or Calc?

Take the ones that will relate to your major. If it’s just a general ed class you’ll be taking in college it will probably be easier than an AP class, especially as far as science is concerned.

I’ve never taken Bio or Calc, but I hear a lot of kids say Bio is really difficult and a lot of kids say Calc was easier than Pre-Cal, that’s at my school however. It could be totally different with different teachers.

Also, Gym as a senior? That sucks, is it all four years where you are?

We need 4 credits of gym and 2 of music. Gym USED to be worth 1 credit so I would have had to take it only 4 times (starting this semester is my 4th) but they changed it to .58 credits so I’m going to have to take it like 2 more times senior year.

I would take out AP Calculus because it doesn’t relate to your major. It’s better to take at least 1 AP science in high school because science courses in college are most likely “weeders” especially Chemistry 101. The rest of your classes look fine.

Side Note: My school only requires 1 year of physical education and health. I wouldn’t want to take 4 years of PE lol. Also my school only requires 1 semester of fine arts (music and art)
