Am I allowed to take classes that are back to back? Say...chemistry from 10-11am and then calc 3 from 11 - 12? If so...how the hell am I supposed to get from one place to the other in one minute?

Yes your "allowed" to. Classes at WashU all start 7 mins past the written start time... so you have 7 mins to get from class to class. If you want to do it, its fine.

oh right...passing time...i forgot about that. thanks.

btw - does anyone know if taking genchem and calc 3 is even possible in one semester? i looked at the course listings for this fall, and it seems to me that their schedules conflict.

does it really only take 7 min to get from class to class? the campus is kind of big...i'm just used to emory where its like 15 minutes

It's possible.
Gen Chem is offered in two sections: MWF from 10-11, and MWF from 11-12. (These are the 01 and 02 listed;you choose 1). In addition you have to sign up for one of recitation sections.

Calc 3 also has two sections, MTThF from 9-10, and 11-12, of which you choose one.

You can take both classes at the same time, and many people do : )

And yes, it does generally take less than 7 if you have classes that are located in the main part of campus (LabSci, Rebstock, Wilson, Eads, to name a couple). Watch out if you have a class in the Village (example Lopata House). There you might want to be careful about taking a class back to back if you have to go all the way from there to another class in the center of campus.

eleph - that's what i noticed too, but don't we have to take the chem lab along with gen chem? i should have clarified - the chem lab is what's conflicting with calc 3 because most of the later times for the lab are full already.

wait people take classes at the same time but go to like a different section...that is pretty cool haha

i've also noticed that the same teacher teaches like 3 sections, which is really cool so i guess thats possible
