With only a few weeks left until telebears, i have been trying to plan my collegiate life for the next 4 years. I am thinking of majoring in Econ while applying to med school.

Semester:
1) Chem1A, Math1A
2) Chem3A, Math53, Stats20/21
3) Chem 3B, Econ1/2/C3
4) Bio1A, Econ101A
5) Econ 101B, Physics 8A, MCB 102
6) Econ 141, Physics 8B
7) Bio 1B, English
8) English

This seems rather balanced. I plan on taking the MCAT in Spring Jr year.
Is any one semester going to be very difficult/hard to telebears?
And is taking Bio1B that late advisable in terms of MCAT prep?

thanks!

you can’t do bio 1b that late, you are basically ****ing yourself doing that, but anyways you need to do Bio 1B next semester or in fall

could you explain why bio1b cant be taken that late?
it seems like its not a prereq for anything
is a large portion of that course on the MCAT?

I need help with my schedule too..
I’m a frosh. taking chem 1a. and math 1a right now.
next semester i dont know what to take besides chem 3a.. should i start physics or bio1b or bio 1a … what?! ><

Med schools will want to see your bio 1b score. It will be on MCAT, though I don’t know how prevalently.

Anyways, your plan seems pretty stressful. Strongly consider taking summer school.

to 8, take bio 1b, physics 8a can be held until spring soph or fall jr.

Material from Bio 1B is rarely on the MCAT. There are basically 1-2 questions from the biological science section from Bio 1B. The MCAT doesn’t care about plant biology, evolution, and ecology as much as cell biology.

Med schools won’t care if you take Bio 1B later since you will have already taken MCB 102 (an upper div bio class) by the time you apply. A premed I knew took Bio 1B in his last semester and he is now at UCSD School of Medicine.

for econ take ugba 101b OR Ugba 100b, ur allowed to substitute one Macro or Micro econ course instead of econ 100a, econ 100b, haas classes are really easy relative to econ dept

should i use UGBA substitution policy for 101B or 101A? I heard A is actually harder that B, strangely enough…

thanks for the input guys. i really appreciate it.

anyone else want to comment/constructively criticize? :)
