I just got my recommendations for my junior year. Keep in mind my school district has different requirements:
AP World History
AP Lang
AP Bio
Medical Interventions
Foundations of Technology
Pre Calculus- I suck at math, so they recommend I take regular this year and next year Calc AB or Stat.
Many say I should take all of the AP classes, but many others say I should drop one. I don't want to suffer all junior year and get a bad GPA.

BUMP

I think this is a pretty manageable schedule. At my school AP classes are weighed 1.2, and i’m planning on taking 4 APs next year (senior year: AP U.S. GOV., Lang., Chem., and Bio.) as well as contemp. calc. (step below ap calc ab), and french 5. It all depends on how much free time you have, if you’re a good student (determination, etc), and if your teacher does a good job preparing you. The only rigorous AP class I see is AP Bio, which covers 25 chapters by the midterm (with the Campbell’s textbook). I’d also ask people who’d already taken the AP class. This last step saved my butt: I was going to take AP Psych (because it’s one of the easiest AP tests), but everyone I asked said it was HELL! In short: look at your capabilities and what other people who’ve taken it thought of it.

I’m a junior this year and I’m taking AP US History, Language, French, and Stat. I was worried at the beginning of the year that I wouldn’t be able to handle it but as long as you don’t procrastinate and get all the work done, and are not afraid of self-studying, you should be able to handle the schedule really well. I’m really bad at math too, but I love stat, so if you’re thinking about senior year – go for Stat. :)

I agree with ssswims about stats. I’m in precalc (worst class: 84%) and ap stats (2nd worst, 85%, only because I completely failed one of the tests). Stats is a very fun, exciting, and new experience for a high school student. Take AP Stats!
