Hey guys, what was your schedule for grade 9, that was considered to be academically challenging? I'm going into HS, will have to choose classes soon. Would like to hear from you to have some references. Thanks.

I took Honors English 9, Honors FunctionsStatsTrig, World History, German 2, Honors Bio, Intro to Chem/Physics
I suggest start off w/ an honors math. It REALLY prepares you for the ACTs. Doesn’t matter if it’s honors geometry or honors algebra!
And if you get the option of a block science class, take that too!

Do you really need us to pick your schedule for you? Figure it out for yourself.

I had
Spanish 2
AP Human
Math 1
H Biology
H English

Thank you guys, exclusive Francaisalamatt

^^^
They are just asking for help. smh

I took all honors (some classes were High Honors though)
Algebra (which is what kids take in frosh year b/c our state makes us), U.S. History I (High honors), English, Literature, Art, Music, Bio and I had to take one gen. phys ed class.

That was the reg. schedule for an honors student in my school. Nothing speacil.

If your school offers more I would advise you to take it!!

Wow, in my freshmen year, I didn’t even have the freedom to choose my courses. If you were smart, you were put in Honors. If you weren’t, you were put in Regulars. And they forced us to take this dumb elective called “The Freshmen Experience.” And I’m pretty sure your choices are limited as a Freshmen as well. If you have good grades, go for the Honors. If you don’t feel that you’re up for the challenge, then well, don’t take it.

^
Same here. If you are smart you are honors if you’re not then it’s CP classes or the mega-low levels.

Just think the kid should be smart enough to know what would be hard for him or not.

I’m doing:

honors bio
honors english
honors alg 2 / trig
spanish 5-6 (i started spanish 1-2 then skipped 3-4 over the summer)
freshman PE
digital media 1/ health science (requirement…)

^^ i’m with you man.

but, kid, i’d suggest taking all the stupid required electives freshmen year.

^That’s true. I got my art electives out of the way freshie year, and haven’t regretted it. Gives you space to do what you want later.

Lucky you guys. Our school forces us to take an elective every year.

Half a period of Gym, Dance, or Aerobics for four years. One period of Music or Art for two years. And half a period of Health for one year. It really sucks.

Take all honors and at least one AP. I took ap world history in my freshman year and i thot it was really easy and i got a 5 on the ap exam. U should take at least one ap so u know how ap classes are. Im taking ap european history this year and im glad i took ap world last year cuz its helping me alot in ap euro.

That’s actually pretty much what my situation was. 5 credits (one year) of Art, gym for 3 years once every other day. We also have to have two years of foreign languages, but I’m finishing with 6 anyway :P

here are my academic classes from freshman year only:
algebra 2 honors
biology honors
latin (unleveled)
freshman english honors
world history honors

My schedule was:
Honors Biology
Gym/Health
Civics/Economics
Honors English 9
Honors Algebra 2
Band

^^^ Same with me bro, we only need 2 years of language but, i’ll graduate with five.

My Freshman schedule:

AP World History
Biology Honors
AP Calculus AB
AP Human Geography
Physics Honors
English I Honors
Spanish III Honors

This is what I took in 9th grade
I’m a sophomore now

PE
AP Calc AB
Honors Spanish 1-2
AP Human Geography
AP Physics B
Honors English 9th Grade
(AP Calculus BC, somewhat guided independent study, I got credit for it though, so I had 7 credits instead of 6 at the end of 9th grade)
