Hi, I feel so stupid asking about this but I am very confused with organizing my schedule for this incoming fall! I know CalSO is supposed to help with this but I think it would ease my mind figuring it out myself and getting an idea of what I would like to take before talking to the counselor. I am going to major in Molecular and Cell Biology with an emphasis on Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. I know what lower division and upper division classes I have to take for this major. My friend advised me to take only four classes to not overstress myself but I wondering which lower division classes I would take for my freshman year? Also, what other classes outside of my major am I required to take and how does Decal work itself in? Sorry for asking so many obvious questions! Any help would be greatly appreciated :)!

Personally, I would go onto ninjacourses.com first, and look at classes there. You can first explore by department, and consider taking the prerequisites that you need to take your desired classes. You can also search the L&S advising website for your major requirements, as well as breadth requirements that you need to complete as an L&S undergraduate. There are many courses that satisfy each breadth, and ninjacourses provides user ratings/reviews that past students wrote.

Also, Decals come out a little later (I don’t see the new Decals yet.) You can check up on it through decal.org. You’ll know they updated it if you can see courses for “Fall 2012.”
