So my calso is next week and I'm having some issues with my schedule

im thinking of signing up for at calso:

Math 16A
Nutritional Sciences 10
a freshman seminar
Economics 1 (i wanted to take Philosophy 12A (intro to logic) and Economics 1 but theyre at the same time -_-. So since Economics is more important to my major (pre business) i decided to take economics. good choice??)

but I can't sign up for all of these at calSO and nutritional sciences seem to be the least filled up and i kind of want my freshman seminar. Is it better to secure my classes at calSO or should I sign up for nutrisci later and sign up for my freshman seminar at calSO?

Also for math 16A all the discussions are full but the lectures are open. Should i still sign up anyways?

That's a great first semester schedule. Definitely not too demanding, but good enough for a pre-business major. That being said, in order to actually get these classes, I would urge you to sign up for Econ 1, Math 16A, and your freshman seminar at Calso (which I believe would be 8 units?). It's important to sign up for Econ 1 and Math 16A early because you can get a discussion session at a time that's most ideal for you, which is necessary for pre-requisite courses in my opinion. And because freshmen seminars always fill up fast, I highly doubt you'd be able to get into one if you tried to sign up for one during your Phase II appointment. Nutrisci can wait; it's an easy breadth requirement and there's no way it's going to fill up anytime soon.

That schedule is only 12 units. You'll need 13 units if you're in L&S.

thanks for all the input !

Those are just the classes I'm thinking about for phase I. I'm going to add one more breadth class (in addition to nutrisci) and maybe a decal class and another seminar in phase 2. so the final schedule will look like:

nutrisci
freshman seminar
econ 1
math 16A
another breadth
freshman seminar 2 or decal class

Too much? o_o?

and if math 16A is more full than econ should i go for math first?

Do we have to sign up for both lecture and discussion? or does signing up for discussion automatically register us for the lecture?
