schedule lecture and discussion timings

Should I sign up for a discussion that's right after the lecture (eg lecture ends 12.50pm and discussion starts 1pm) so that I don't have to waste traveling time? Or is it better to have the discussion on a different day so I get time to think through the new material learnt?

discussion after lecture is a plus cuz then you know you wont miss it...experience after a year of missing countless also useless sections.

also, your discussion section will be going over material from the previous week- NOT material learned 10 minutes before. so your 2nd week discussion would cover 1st week lectures and so forth.

thats only if you got a responsible TA...my ta for math 31B was an idiot..talks about stuff totally irrelevant to anything the professor taught or would have taught

math discussion= go if you have questions otherwise it is pointless :)
i missed a discussion right after class once... somehow i forgot i had discussion that day lmao realized after I got back in my room...

Haters is right, if it is RIGHT after lecture, your chances of actually going to discussion is MUCH higher, but that is IF and ONLY IF you go to lecture. If you don't go to lecture, then it is very much the opposite. You will not want to go to discussion because you already missed lecture and will feel like it is a waste of time to get out JUST for discussion, assuming no other classes are right after the discussion.
