Schedule Next Year, Advice Please

Hi everyone,

I am trying to form my schedule for next year, but I haven't found anyone who's been able to give much advice on the problem I have.

Currently, I am a Freshman.

I am trying to decide whether to take AP Bio or Honors Bio.

I'm pretty good at science (a B in Honors Chem first semester, an A second semester, with difficulty due to the math), and I excel most in English and history. I just don't know if taking AP Bio in addition to AP world history will be a good choice, seeing as both require a lot of memorization.

Any input would be very much appreciated.

I took both AP World History and AP Biology when I was a Sophomore, so lucky I can attest to both classes.

From my experience, I received a manageable workload for both classes. I love history and science, so being interested in the subjects definitely helps. I received an A/A+ for both semesters of AP World History and A/A- for AP Biology. AP Biology, in my opinion, was nothing compared to AP World History. It was just constant memorization and reading for me, which shall soon reflect my grade on the exam, this coming July. On the other hand, AP World History was rather easy. JUST READ YOUR TEXTBOOK, and you’ll be just fine on the tests.

So overall, my opinion? Take AP Biology. Why? I can’t imagine taking AP Biology with AP U.S. History (if you’re even planning on taking APUSH in your junior year). In my school, the combination can be a beast, especially if you don’t read the textbooks.

omg i totally and completely agree with justin. the apush and ap bio combo this year was horrible for me this year as a jr. i managed an A in both classes last semester…but i cracked this semester and got b’s simply because i was just overwhelmed with all the memorization plus ap exam review.

So take it now while u have time. although id watch about the ap world too…idk how much reading u have to do in that class. just be careful!

Thanks guys. I think I’ll end up taking AP Bio this year. ^^
