Schedule Opinions

Here is my schedule:

Mschedule.com - View Schedule

Right now I'm in LSA and want to transfer the Engineering. Is this schedule good or is it too much? Also, if I take Math 105 in the fall instead of 115 (adviser told me that I should do that because I got placed into 105) would effect transfer to engineering? I also took AP Calculus in high school and was between A-/B+ student in the class. Would it be better if i took 115 or 105?

Thanks

Do you know algebra well? If so then just take 115. How’d you do in the AP test (did you take it)? Also, that’s only 13 credits, maybe you want to take another class?

if you cant handle that schedule with ease, you will be doing yourself a big favor not transferring into engineering

i took the ap test but i didn’t take the time to study for it and i didn’t get credit. i don’t know what other class that i could fit into my schedule to add more credit. does work study give you credit because i could possibly do that?

if you really wanted to take another class you could look into taking engr110 it’s a 2 credit class that discusses a different branch of engineering every week and the engineering profession as a whole.

You can rearrange your schedule to allow something else to fit. You don’t start 'till 11:30 most days. Take something in the morning.

why did my engineering advisor tell me i couldn’t take engin 101 until after math 115? boo :(

what is a good class to take in the morning? how do you really transfer into engineering? i want to get into CS, and my cousin’s friend told me i should talk to the CS engr advisor when school starts and tell them that i want to transfer. does anyone know how long till you are transfered? also i’m starting off in LSA, do i need to take LSA required classes if i want to go to engineering? i’m asking so many questions because my advisor did not help answer anything about transfering.

I’m also transferring from LSA to engineering. You want to see this page: [Michigan Engineering | Cross-Campus (U-M) Transfer Students](http://www.engin.umich.edu/admissions/undergraduate/transfer/internal/index.html)
The only classes you NEED to take are the ones listed on that website. If you have room in your schedule, though, you might as well take some humanities/social science classes and get some requirements out of the way. Once you complete all the prereq classes you’re eligible to transfer. So if you finish the prereq classes first semester, you can apply to transfer into COE for the winter semester.

Ace, incase transfering doesn’t work see if you can take an English class in the morning.

I believe you need an introductory and upper level English class anyway, so the above is good advice. To check your grad requirements, just go into Wolverine and click on your “degree requirements” link. That should give you guidance re: what to take as far as general distribution requirements.

it says that i have to take physics 140/141, so i’ll probably do that in the winter. i was also planning to take english 125 in the winter. would i need to take a language course? because i placed out of 1 semester of spanish. i would like to transfer in fall 2010

by the way, thanks to everyone for helping me out, i appreciate it.

Just take English your first semester. You should have some some introduction to those classes anyway (maybe not Engin 101 but you took HS Calc and you presumably took some Chem in HS also). You’re gonna pay the same amount of money to take that schedule or if you take it + an English class, so you might as well.

If you want to CS, you don’t need to transfer into engineering.
