I know I'm adding to the huge amount of "Skipping Precalc" threads that have been going on, but I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me with this situation.

I am currently a freshman and I'm interested in skipping Precalculus Honors over summer (Currently have a high A in Algebra 2/Trigonometry) to take Calculus BC in sophomore year (I'm interested in doing dual enrollment in senior year and focusing on only one AP sophomore year would help me rather than doing 4-5 APs including calc in junior year.)

Anyway, my question is: In our school, taking a summer class takes up 10 credits. We have a 70 credit limit per academic year, and if I do Precalc, it'll end up being 80 credits. I obviously can't do this, so I have to drop a class in sophomore year. I'm currently in Java this year and I want to take AP Comp Sci next year (which will probably be the class that I end up not doing if I skip Precalc over summer.) Would it be possible for me to self study Comp Sci next year and take the test knowing that I've already done a rigorous amount of Java? We use the same materials as the AP Class.

Or, would it just be worth it for me to not skip Precalc in the first place, then take AP Comp Sci next year, and not be able to do dual enrollment (MV Calc) senior year? I'm interested in focusing on engineering in college, and am planning on applying to top engineering colleges.

TL;DR Essentially, I'm asking whether skipping Precalc to do AP Calc BC in sophomore year (which would also lessen workload for me in junior year) and doing MV Calc at a CC in senior year is worth it or not if I want to focus on engineering and apply to top engineering colleges.

Thank you, and I'd appreciate it a lot if someone could help me out with this.
