Schedule Questions

Hello, I did phase 1 already, choosing Math 1A and History 7A. I have been looking over courses on schedule builder and was thinking about only phase 2-ing Classics R44 (5 units), which would bring me to the recommended 13 units for my first semester of freshman year. However, I also need to satisfy the foreign language requirement and was wondering if I should sign up for Celtic 15, which would bring me to 17 total units. What should I do? Math 1A helps me with my major requirements, History 7A satisfies a breadth requirement, Classics R44 satisfies both a half of the R&C req (I already have A) as well as a breadth of my choosing. Celtic 15 would satisfy the FL req. I intend to be an Econ and Math double major

Personally, I would say sign up for both, and if you’re feeling busy during the first couple weeks, drop something. Classes’ll only get harder, so make sure you know the drop deadlines in case you start to struggle.

Do you have AP credit for economics and/or math?

Note that there are economics and math courses that fulfill the history breadth requirement, so it may not be specifically necessary to take History 7A unless you also want to cover the AH&I and/or AC requirements with it.

I have no credit for Econ or Math. The only math course that satisfies the history breadth is Math 160 and that isn’t being offered in the Fall

The question is, is there a possibility that you will take Math 160 or one of the economics history courses later for your major? If so, you may want to favor fulfilling the breadths that cannot be covered by your majors (e.g. art and literature, biological science, physical science).
