Hey guys, I was wondering how you schedule courses at TCNJ. Do you get to pick your classes online at PAWS? Can you choose you professors (if more than one is teaching the class), and is it a hierarchy system (seniors first, juniors second, sophomores third, freshman last). Thanks!!

Hi Northeastern. Yes, you will use PAWS to create your schedule and choose your classes. You will search for the class title, and PAWS will show you the times that that class is offered and who will be teaching it. From there, you can choose which one you want to take based on who is teaching and the time/day. The scheduling goes by credits, so the more credits you have, the earlier you choose your schedule. Hope that helps!

You get assigned classes for the first semester, but can choose for subsequent ones. Your time slot depends on the number of credits you have so upperclassmen usually get first pick, but if you have AP credit, you can get a better time slot compared to others from your year.

So you cant choose your teachers for your first semester. And what classes do they require you to take first semester

That will depend on your major. And you will take an “FSP,” Freshman Seminar Program, which you sort of get to choose- you choose your top 5 choices or so, which you may or may not get in the end.
