4 classes = 1 too many

biol 11 is supposed to be a rather craptackular class ... nobody likes it, nobody wants to teach it, and generally it's a bit of work

cs5 will be fine if you have a good analytic mind, enjoy problem solving, or have done programming before ... if you don't, then that class will be hell. either way, you'll have to put some time into it

writing 5 will depend completely on your prof

span2/3 shouldn't be too bad, but you'll have drill for span 2 at least.

DO NOT TAKE 4 CLASSES. I've written this before, but if you tell other freshmen that you are taking 4 classes, you will come off as a pretentious geek.

Writing 5 shouldn't be too bad -- def check course reviews before you sign up. Spanish is a ton of fun and you can actually make friends in those classes. Language classes are like 2 classes though -- 2 hours almost every day.

Def second rightnotleft about cs. I went in to cs4 thinking it was going to be breeze. Little did I know that once I got past html, my life would become a nightmare.

I took bio11 last term as a distrib (Emerging Infectious Diseases with Guerinot). It wasn't too tough to get the median and I'm def no science person. There wasn't any homework or reading; I'd just cram the night before our exams.

REMEMBER your goal your first term is to make friends, get to know the campus, and have fun.

PS. When I say don't take 4 classes, it's like when I said don't live in East Wheelock. You will regret it.
