sounds good to me. Start with just one series and add another if you think you can handle it

I have spop on monday, I was wondering if 4 classes would be too much for the first quarter?

I’ve talked to a lot of people on it, and 4 classes is apparently like, the perfect amount for the first quarter/any quarter. After that, you gauge if you can handle more/it’s good enough/you need less, then go on with that.

@mixedup92, I def don’t think i could handle 4 classes my first quarter. i took 13 units, Humcore was 8, and 1 unit for University Studies 2 or something. Idk if it was just humcore, but it was a little difficult for me to transition / get better time management skills. it also depends on what classes your taking. if you’re taking 4 easy classes, might as well try to do them all. but i would suggest taking 4 classes and then just dropping one if you can’t handle it - be sure to know the drop deadlines though.

Wait, I’m confused now. Let’s say I didn’t take anything before this. If I need 60 units per year without including summer, I need to take 5 classes at least per quarter? Since each class=4 credits, and 5x 4 x 3=60 per year. Thought even 4 classes was too much for some people, and that was perfect?

don’t you only need 180 units to graduate? 180/4=45 units.
i’m not sure what it’s like for your major though
– well i just calculated it, i’m not sure if i got all the classes, but if it’s 26 required classes that’s only 104 units assuming that it’s all 4 units each. also being a math major it looks like you’d satisfy the
II. Science and Technology
V. Quantitative, Symbolic, and Computational Reasoning
GE requirements. but i didn’t account for the labs required for the science classes so that’s probably a few more units. but you’d prob have the lab req completed too.

then you have your other GEs.

Oh. Well, the GE’s are supposed to finish in two years, right? Like, the lower education ones. It says you need 120 units from the first two years, then.

Well, I think if I calculated it correctly you have 48 units left of GEs so you might need to pick up a minor or just take bs classes. haha. but don’t count on my calculations - i don’t wanna screw you over…
once you get your degree audit up that should be a little more helpful in how many classes you need to take/units you have left. or any other math majors can come in here and tell you whether they needed to take classes just to fulfill the 180 units graduation requirement

(here’s the list)
I. Writing (2 lower + 1 upper-div)
II. Science and Technology (3)
III. Social and Behavioral Sciences (3)
IV. Arts and Humanities (3)
V. Quantitative, Symbolic, and Computational Reasoning (3)
VI. Language Other Than English (1)
VII. Multicultural Studies (1 – may also satisfy another GE req)
VIII. International/Global Issues (1 – may also satisfy another GE req)
IX. Laboratory or Performance (1 – may also satisfy another GE req)

Nvm, I’m an idiot. It’s 45 units per year…This is going to turn out to be really awesome. In two quarters, I’m going to be a junior =D.
