Just got my schedule and of course I did not get one of the classes I wanted. The others are intros so of course I got into those. Great. FML

uhhhh…I got signed up for a writing seminar that wasn’t even IN the booklet they sent us!!! *** seriously (nabokov, where did you come from??)

I didn’t get any writing seminar… now I have to take it second semester

nabokov… isnt that a goalie in the nhl

there’s still add drop period. don’t be so down.

I’m not down…I’m just confused. and there aren’t even any descriptions of the course so I dunno what it involves!

Sorry to hear ya’ll missed what you wanted, I got lucky. That is, sorry to everyone buy scribbler 91–you deserved it for speaking ill of my boy Nabs. Read this and then talk s-it about Nabokov. http://www.ridge414.com/files/Nabokov_Good_Readers_Good_Writers_1_.pdf

haha if that were the case I’d love to take the class. he wrote Lolita.

Benny B, I didn’t speak ill of Nabokov! I’m just totally surprised since it wasn’t even an option, and somehow I got it.

so…i got a freshman sem i really really wanted, one class I really needed to take and my absolute dead last 10th choice. only 3 credits… I didn’t get an intro science class, weird. whatevs. i think their system must be glitch central if you got something you didn’t request

okay, so i also did not get the freshman seminar class i wanted (but got all my other classes which were intro classes). basically my game plan is to try to sign up for a different fresh/writing seminar during the add/drop period. will it be totally impossible to get into one then? should i just try to sign up for some non-seminar class instead? im concerned…

Does add/drop open up at midnight EDT on the 12th?

One of my classes has the recitation, but not the lecture…

when does add/drop begin

it begins on the 12th…

I am sorta glad that I didn’t get the course I wanted. It made things easier and I am actually happier with my new schedule, pending I get my new choices

i didnt get into the 2 writing seminars and the one freshman seminars i put down

and got a more hectic friday which starts at 9:00 and ends at 4:30 :s

ahh…just got my schedule…and i got everything except they didn’t give me the writing seminar…so now i am missing a credit for the semester…what can I do? is it ok to just have 4 credits first semester? or should i find some class that is still open?

4-4.5 credits is the expected amount for a semester. I was wondering how the add/drop period functions. Is it first come, first serve? And is it available at midnight tonight?

Add/Drop is now first come first serve. If there is something you really want, you just have to keep checking for an opening. The first week of actual classes is when a lot of stuff does open[particularly the writing seminars when people realize they don’t like what they have; I had one last year where I really didn’t like the topic so I checked and checked but nothing opened until the first week of class. I ended up just keeping it because I didn’t want to enter the class late, but a large number of them did open up].

Okay thanks. Do you know what time it opens?

I didn’t get into my writing seminar so I’m thinking of taking another language class. Would it be too difficult to take 2 language classes (1 intro, 1 advanced)?

ok… so i’m not liking my schedule… :(

i didn’t get a writing seminar at all and for some reason i don’t have a LEC class for math114… i only have the REC class…

can the LEC be added during add/drop?
