Schedules??

Hello all, just wondering how to build up a solid class schedule for my kids. My Daughter struggled for her freshman and sophomore years, but she got it together and is has been admitted ED to Princeton. My son is a junior this year, so maybe some tips for a senior schedule??? My youngest daughter will be starting HS next year so I’d love some tips on classes she should be taking

Judging from your other threads…it looks like your HS guidance department has a good progression for your son…and clearly did so for your daughter too.

Why not start there.

I could tell you your kid should take 3rd year German but if your kid hasn’t already taken years one and two what good would that do?

Not sure why you think a bunch of strangers on the internet have a clue what classes your kids should take, are offered, etc.

Here is your son’s current schedule. It looks like the guidance department has done a good job. Your SON shpipd be speaking to his HS counselor regarding his senior class schedule.

And free advice…I can’t see ANY reason why this kid would have needed to ad an extra period to his already challenging day. He has six AP courses…that’s plenty.

Ok…notable missing things I see in this junior year schedule. It is all academic courses. Why? He has art history…but what about some kind of applied arts course…band, orchestra, art? No foreign language? Did he already fulfill the foreign language requirements for the types of colleges you seem to want him to apply to? Many recommend four years of a foreign language.

What about physical education and health? Are those not required in your state?

That’s a pretty heavy load of AP courses.

For his senior year, maybe he would like to take some electives? Something like culinary arts, or photography?

My kids HS would not allow AP US History and AP Euro at the same time. The reading load just wouldn’t work and the kid would get no sleep.

YMMV.

Blossom, first of all, I do not appreciate your petty attitude! I’m simply asking other parents for advice on what they think might be helpful. I don’t appreciate your sarcasm and cattiness!

Thank you Thumper1 for being HELPFUL unlike others on this thread (notably a user named Blossom) And I will hit up the guidance department tomorrow! I just discovered this site and am trying to gain insight from OTHER PARENTS!
