<p>So kiddo is going to campus in Feb to audition for MPulse. Their website said that students can schedule tours of the School of Theatre and Dance while they’re there, but to do so on Thursday or Monday, as the MT kids don’t have classes on Fridays. (The MPulse audition is on a Saturday.) She emailed the person listed as the contact, as well as the general email to schedule a visit to Theatre and Dance in early January, once she received notice that her application had passed review and she will be getting an audition slot. Didn’t hear anything, so tried again after a couple of weeks. Still no response from them. (She did schedule a tour of the main campus, which was done w/an electronic form.) </p>
<p>Looked at the UM website, and saw that it’s college audition madness over the next few weeks, so we are sure they are busy…but she also needs to know whether she’ll be able to tour or observe classes, etc. as she’ll need to confirm a college visit day excuse for her high school, and there’s the matter of extra hotel nights, etc. </p>
<p>So…anybody have experience with what sort of response (esp when) to expect from UMich regarding the possibility of a tour/class observation in Feb? Are we better served to make a second trip up there (it’s about 4-5 hours) to do a visit later in the school year? (She’s already got her Spring Break Tour list pretty full…) Should she call the school, or better to wait a little longer for someone to get back to her? (Other schools have been quickly responsive regarding her options to come for a campus visit…just not sure what to expect from a larger school like UM.)</p>
