Scheduling advice for freshman?

Does anyone have any scheduling advice for incoming freshman? Any thoughts, ideas, etc.?

um, i'd advise being realistic about when you intend to consistently wake up, and take that into account; if you give yourself a 9am recitation, you better be a morning person.

Yeah. Due to credit limit, you can't really mess yourself up... yet. Just take as many standard GIRs as you can first year to get it all out of the way, and do be realistic about mornings as goddess said.

I didn't used to think 9am was early until I started staying up late for homework! ;)

I think a good recommendation is not to take all of the extra numbers (8.012, 18.012, 5.112... and so forth) at once. A lot of the extra number classes take a lot of dedication and work. you shouldnt try to overload yourself. Granted, if you really think you can do it, you can always try the class and then change if you find out its not for you. dont feel like you have to do it all.

I wouldn't really recommend 18.022, since the professor is a super-nice person but not so great a teacher.
