Im in the middle of picking classes and was just wondering whether some current Emory students could give their opinion on the size of the campus. Is 15 minutes enough between classes to get from let's say White Hall to North Detaur building? and how is traveling around campus?

What do you mean traveling? You generally walk I guess, and perhaps take the shuttle to clairmont. It’s a kind of small campus w/regards to the concerns of most freshmen (the core/most academically functional area is really tight, but there is a lot of sprawl in general), though big overall. Most of the rest of Emory is forest though, with some Emory buildings/areas located w/in the forest, but needless to say, most freshmen won’t have to go there. As long as you walk w/a reasonable pace, 15 minutes should be fine. I would personally dart across the quad, get on asbury circle (in front of the library), go up little hill, and go left on Fishburn, cross Clifton, and of course proceed past law school and your there. Perhaps 7-10 minutes w/a fast walk. Get google earth and learn the layout of campus. Unfortunately, N. Decatur isn’t in the core and is basically on the other side of Clifton where most of the healthcare facilities lie, so unless you are coming from Clairmont, it’s less than a pleasant walk.

thanks for the reply! ya i meant walking and thanks for the tip. would u happen to know why on OPUS some classes dont have instructors and when they will be filled in with actual professors instead of just saying staff?

The either don’t know who will be teaching or don’t want students flocking to professors known for ease, in particular easy professors that may have a tendency to say, overload students. It upsets the balance of enrollment when there are several sections. Some end up overenrolled and some under enrolled. This is the case for biology and perhaps some math courses w/several sections. The former usually applies to others.
