Scheduling classes

My son has been playing around with the scheduling tool on his myharvard. We noticed that classes begin and end on the hour. Is it possible to take a 10-11 class and an 11-12 class or will you be late to your 11-12 class?

Thanks in advance

The classes don't start till 7 minutes after the hour.

Thanks for the info piccolo

Some professors don't follow the 7 minute rule, but nobody cares if you're a few minutes late.

I've taken many classes back-to-back and never had a problem.

Thanks for everyones input, it's appreciated

My daughter maintains that everything runs late at Harvard!

twinmom- it's possible that experiences differ, but most professors I've had end right on the minute. The exception is midterms- some professors give students an extra five or ten minutes after the hour, which they're really not supposed to do (it's unfair to students that have a class immediately afterwards).

From my experience, every class starts at 7 after and ends on time. I have never had a problem leaving if a class runs over. For example, Ec10 lecture ran like 10 minutes over time occasionally, but I think most profs understand that you have class and need to leave. I would rather leave my class thats running over than be late to my next.

I just read my post and realized it sounds like a 3rd grader wrote it and doesn't make much sense.

Moral of the Story: It's not a big deal to have classes back to back. It's not your fault if the prof/section leader talks for longer than the hour...You've got class, they get it.

Admiral - I probably didn't phrase that right ... her point is that everything starts late, not that everything ends late. She's probably referring to the 7 minute rule
