scheduling conflicts

I'm going to be a high school senior next year and I'm interested in majoring in science. Next year I was planning on taking Physics and AP Chem but due to scheduling conflicts I can only take AP Chem OR a 4th year of a foreign language (AP Latin). If I took AP Chem I would have 5 years of science but only 3 years of a foreign language. For college admissions do you think it would just be better to take AP Latin so I could have 4 years in a foreign language and 4 years in science, or should I take AP Chem because that's what I'm interested in. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

AP Chemistry -> pursue your passion. I would think it would be better to give up the 4th year of foreign language [three is generally fine] to pursue a subject you are more passionate about, rather than to take a 4th year foreign language course in the interest of satisfying colleges.

Then again, I'm an idealist. :D

Amen - go with Chem. If you're really concerned about admissions, ask your GC to include a note explaining the scheduling conflict.

It is not big deal if you take five years of and three years of FL than 4 years of science and four years of foreign language. And there is not need to go to your guidance counselor for that.
