Scheduling Dilemma

My guidance counselor recently told me that two classes that I had signed up for (AP music theory and AP Euro) are meeting on the same block, and that I would have to drop one of them, because my schedule couldn't fit both. Which one should I keep?

Here are my opinions regarding them
AP music Theory: I think I'm pretty good at music, because I'm going to be the concertmaster next year. The class also does not meet as many times per week as AP Euro, but we have to sing in music theory. My voice is pretty high (due to reasons I do not want to get into), and I would probably be really embarressed. I'm also not sure the difficulty of the class.

AP Euro
this is a full class. I'm taking it to continue the AP history sequence (AP World, AP US, and AP Euro). I'm normally not a big fan of history, but I do pretty well in history courses (A- or A). I'm also not too strong on analytical essays, but my current AP US teacher "holds your hand" throughout the course and offers lots of extra assignments. The teacher I would have next year for AP Euro is considered "easier" than the other, harder teacher.

Which should I take?

In my senior year, French and music theory clashed and I was told to drop one. I didn't - I alternated classes every week and my teachers hated me for that. But I still finished best in music, and second best in french.

So you could actually do both.

Why can't you take Euro with the other teacher on their block?

^Cuz that would involve dropping my other classes that I absolutely don't want to drop... basically, AP music theory and AP US are my enthusiastic classes right now

If you absolutely have to choose one over the other, AP music theory seems like a better and more useful option from all you've said.

bump......

For AP Music Theory, you must have a solid background in listening as well as some familiarity with piano.
AP Music Theory can be extremely difficult for some people, but it can also be a breeze if you have a perfect pitch or "musical brain" of some sort XD

Go with the one you like more!.....wink
