Scheduling Emergency

Hi guys,
I'm planning my senior schedule and I have an appt. with my counselor this week (last week of school for us). I also have a dilemma regarding my science and math courses. Any advice would be appreciated!

My schedule so far is:
Newspaper lab
AP Econ
AP US Hist
AP Chem
AP English

We operate on a three-trimester, seven-period schedule, so my final period of the day will rotate between an open hour, a seminar in int'l affairs, and phys ed. But I have ONE slot left! And i'm deciding whether I should take a math course or AP Physics.

I have never taken physics before (Bad!), but I'm not a science person. I'm thinking about taking AP Physics, but I realized that I would not be taking a math class at ALL senior year. I took BC calc this year, and the only way that I could take linear algebra is if I went to a state university (and i'll be taking classes there for spanish three days a week). Should I take AP Stats? I heard it's a big step down from BC. Or should I take AP Physics?

I suggest the college math course if that's what you're into. AP Physics is challenging, so be careful not to overload if you choose it.

Well, to be honest, I have no plans of pursuing math or science in the future. I checked the schedules for linear algebra and calc three at the university, but they're at inconvenient times (I would have to go to school, then go straight to spanish, then straight to calc--arriving home around 7 PM). on the bright side, if I took college math, I wouldn't take an AP test (no stats) : )

If i DID take AP Stats, would it look weird?

It would look weird to take AP Stat, it's just another math course, and it's supposed to be as much of a college course as your BC was. It might turn out to be easier material wise, but there's nothing that would look weird about it to colleges.

It wouldn't look wierd at all!!! I know people in the same position as you and they take Diff eq/Matrix theory the same time as AP Stats, but I recommend Physics because you've never taken a physics class.

I would go with the math class. You're already taking a science (chem), so a math would at least round out your schedule.

well, now i'm a bit more confused. I've heard that AP Physics is impossible to take along with AP Chem. Will it be too hard on top of everything else? (I will take 7 AP tests next year, if you count Econ as two).

I did Ap Chem with Ap Phys this year and I was fine. Of course, I only had four Aps this year, but you get the point. If you excel at science (whether you like it or not) you can do fine without much effort (I sure did!) so you won't be too worn out for the others.
