I'm planning to major in econ and then apply for haas and end up with double major in business admin and econ (hopefully)

So for first semester I'm thinking about

Introductory Probability & Statistics for Business STAT021 (4 units)
Introduction to Logic -- Philosophy (PHILOS) 12A (4 units)
Introduction to Human Nutrition -- Nutritional Science And Toxicology (3 unites)
and one math
001A or B or 016A or B <--- which one is the most suitable? I took Calc BC this year and I think i got a 4 or 5 on the ap exam

Is this schedule too much for my first semseter? Does anyone know about teh difficulty of these courses?

and another question: Are freshman seminars fun/informative? Are they hard and is there any homework and stuff for it?

definitely doable. since the math wont be as heavy since you already know the material (but don't fall into the mindset that its a breeze. it still takes of work).

if you're majoring in econ, i'd say to do math 1a and 1b since graduate econ can be very mathy,

Be careful about Statistics 21. You'd be taking that with Purves, about whom I've heard some bad things. Not saying you shouldn't take it; just do research and consider taking statistics a little bit later.

Philosophy 12A is either really hard or really easy. Only take it if it's going to be really easy for you. It'll probably be clear within a week or two what kind of person you are, so you might want to have a backup plan in case, if you aren't sure it's going to be really easy for you.

I believe people usually take 1A if they didn't pass or take the AB exam, or if they need to for pre-med or something (I think). 1B is like a continuation of 1A. It covers more integration techniques and spends a lot of time on series & sequences. Towards the end of the course differential equations are covered a little.
