Is taking 5 Aps too much?
So I'm going to be a senior next year and am planning my schedule for next year.
I have
Advanced PE
Advanced Physics
AP Chem
AP Bio (self-study)
AP Calc BC

On top of that schedule, I would like to take AP Eng Lit or AP Psychology or both.
What should I do? Is 5 APs too much?
If taking 5 APs is too much which one is better for me?
I'm want to go to med school/major in biotech??
I would rather take psych but I'm pretty good at english and people say english lit is harder so it's more credible?

I took AP Econ this year cause that was the only one available to juniors (until this year dang it!! now the system's changed :S). I think I'll get a 5 since I did pretty well on the test.
It wasn't a breeze but I'd say it usually took me an hour or two on the days I have the class (our schedule is A days and B days).
Oh and I'm HS president and in many service projects for NHS next year
Plus on bball team
is five aps just too much with my schedule?

I still haven't taken any SAT II tests either...

It’s a difficult question without knowing much about you.

In general, going from one to five courses in AP can be really eye opening. In addition to duties as HS president, NHS commitments, and your sport things can get really rough without good time management skills.

If you’re one of those “super human” students who can do everything and be successful during the process and in the end, be my guest. Just make sure you know how to manage your time efficiently. For the average person, it does look a little too unrealistic - especially if you were not challenged enough during your first three years in high school. (citing the jump from one to five AP’s as my argument, in addition to extracurricular’s)

Most students at my high school who take 4+ AP courses during senior year have taken courses in AP since freshman/sophomore year and gradually “build up stamina” (mentally, physically, and academically) by increasing their course load each year.

5 APs is not too much. Of course, it depends on your own time/effort/etc

also depends on whether you have an affinity/can learn chem or math well since those are generally harder classes
