scheduling help!

hi,

so i'm very behind on scheduling, since i haven't gotten back my AP scores yet... but i have a couple of questions that i was hoping somebody could help me answer!

i've taken both calc AB and calc BC, however, i took those classes back in freshman/sophomore year and i got only a 4 on the AP test. should i just retake calc @ penn, or relearn the material and try to test out? i'm not majoring in anything near math, in fact, i can't stand it.

i'm considering trying to transfer to wharton next year, or dual degree wharton/ppe. is that dual degree nearly impossible without lots of AP credit? so far i only have world history and english, and i doubt i'll get any more.

i'm trying to test out of the FL requirement as much as i can. I can speak chinese semi-fluently, not really, and cannot write it. does taking the chinese class for learning how to read and write cut down on the required four classes?

Thanks!

You need Math 104 (BC) to transfer into Wharton. You need Math 114 if you want to take an econ track in PPE and take intermediate/upper level econ courses. I would start out in Math 104 and see where that takes you.

It is possible, but it will take some extra planning to graduate in 4 years. Get into Wharton before worrying about it too much. Doing a dual degree is easier if you pass out of econ, math, stat, and foreign language. That takes out about 1.5-2 semesters worth of courses compared to someone who came in with none of that credit.

okay thanks! one more question: what classes are half credit? i’m taking ethics, math 104, freshman seminar, and microeconomics, which i’m guessing is not a tough courseload at all… so i’m looking to find a .5 cu class… any suggestions?

You can get .5 credit for labs.
