Scheduling help?

Ok so now I've come to an indecisive point in my schedule for next year

Here's the schedule I'm guaranteeing will stay (11th grade year)

IB Math HL 1
IB English HL 1
IB Chemistry HL 1
IB Computer Science SL
IB History HL
Physics I

sadly... I need a 7th course.

Originally, I had AP Stat. I realized shortly that few of my schools accept it, and I could easily get a 5 on this exam with some self-studying.

There's also AP USG, a good follow up for my AP Comparative Government course.

I have replaced AP Stat with IB Bio HL, but I've heard so many stories of IB kids who just fell off.

Do I consider myself different than most? Yes. Do I call these random occurrences, possibly.

However, I don't know whether to continue with bio or not.

What should I do?

I think it’s REALLY unnecessary to do Physics, Chemistry, AND bio in a year.

Where’s your foreign language? That is MUCH more necessary than a third science.

Seeing as how I’ve met my requirements and I’m going into Engineering, I need that physics course. It’s the first part of SL physics, when I wish we could have HL.

Ok… that didn’t address my post in the least. I say drop bio and put in a foreign language. How many years of a language do you have?

Enough for my HS requirements, when it’s ridiculously easy with Honors. Happily, MIT and other schools I want to go to don’t have a foreign language requirement.

They don’t have a requirement, but trust me, the vast majority of colleges (MIT included) would rather you have 4 years of a language than 3 sciences in one year.

Whatever, I gave you my opinion. Take it or leave it.

Top colleges like to see a somewhat well-rounded curriculum in HS. While emphasis in the sciences is great, you might want to reconsider romani’s language suggestion. I’ve heard 4 years is preferred by a lot of colleges.

My alternate option is to take online AP Spanish, since I have no intentions of continuing in IB Spanish. This would give me a 4th year actually.

How can you take online AP spanish? In fact, does anyone know any way to take Spanish online? Our daughter’s 11th grade schedule will be too full with AP classes and student government and newspaper.

My state has an Virtual HS that can be taken in conjunction with a HS Schedule at another school.
