I am applying to may different schools, and do not know if I will be able to schedule interviews for all of them. Do you need to call to schedule an interview or can you do so online? Also, how can you make sure you will not have to interview at two schools at the same time?

Most schools want you to call, some also accept emails. Check the website for each school for information. When you call you make an appointment for your interview at that time, so you can control when they are and that they don’t conflict with anything else in your schedule. If the schools are close enough geographically some people will have one visit one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

Call soon, interview spots fill very fast.

We scheduled 2 interviews on Friday (AM and PM), one on Saturday, two on Monday, and could see 5 schools over a long weekend. Obviously same day schools had to be close together.

It was very much worth it to see the schools. They are very different, and for some, they came off the list, while others surprisingly became favorites. We visited 12 schools all together. That was a lot.

Take pictures on the tour, make a file, and take notes as soon as you leave, because they all blur when you are done.

When is the best time of year for interviews? Obviously it can’t be too late and it can’t be too early so I was looking for the happy medium.

Some people travel in the summer, but if you can see school in session you get a better feel for the whole environment. Some schools don’t start interviewing until October - but they are scheduling now. If you can go in October/November/December that is a good time to go (my opinion). You are settled into your fall schedule, but you still have time to decide where to apply.

I say do proper research on all the schools you’re considering applying to an figure out when the interviews will start as early as possible. Don’t do anything last minute because that’s when complications arise.
