So I got called down today to fix up my schedule. A lot of the APs I'm signed up for are only offered in 1 or 2 periods, but if it's 2 periods then it overlaps. Calc - 2nd, Econ - 3rd, Spanish -2/4, Stat - 6. The only way I can fit physics in is if I take it period 6, but it's full. hopefully I'll get in then.

My main question is this - is it better (in the eyes of college admissions officers at universities like Northwestern, Cornell, Duke, Georgetown, etc.) to take a study in HS and a class I want to take (statistics) at a county college or a class I don't exactly want to take in HS?

If you don’t want to take it, don’t bother. In high school, put priority on classes you want to take, and if you want to take a class but can’t, take it at a CC.

Right now my schedule looks like this:

1 -
2 - Calc BC
3 - AP Econ
4 - AP Spanish

6 -
7 -
8 - Gym
9 - English

Period 6 I want to take physics honors, but it’s full right now. 7th period I’m signed up for AP Chem right now…but really really really do not want to take it. I’m not sure if there are any other decent classes during that though. I really have no idea what I’m going to do…how does it look to schools in the Northwestern, Cornell, Duke range if I don’t take physics? my school is really screwing over us AP kids by putting them all in the same few periods…

Why take a class you dont want??? If you prefer something else over AP chem, by all means go for it. You already have AP Calc, Econ, and Spanish for senior year. What about an AP english? Don’t do something just because of how colleges view it.
