Since I entered college as a sophomore (AP credit), I am having alot of trouble trying to squeeze in everything to be able study abroad. Since it's a national university, they don't allow me to transfer GE units from a community college once I already went to the school. The only transferable units would be my language requirement.

SO ... would it be a lesser experience to travel abroad only from taking community college courses during the summer? I wanted to go to Japan, and I know no japanese currently, and I need two semesters experience to go. I was planning on taking courses the next two summers, then going my last year.

My other concerns about this:
1) Between summers, I will probably forget alot of the material
2) because of 1) my performance and grade might suffer greatly if I jump to Japan after barely any courses

Also, I could consider doing an extra year, since I would have without my AP scores anyways, but total expenses is almost $47,000 or so per year, and I am not on any scholarships.
