Scheduling Question

If I have a class that's from 10:00-11:00, it's probably not a good idea to register for a class that's from 11:00-12:00, or is there some kind of grace period at the beginning of classes?

You’ll be let out of your 10-11 class at 10:50, so you have a 10 min grace period

The main question is: How far are the buildings from one another?

First semester, my son tried to get a gap between his classes and hated it - there were too many chunks of wasted time. This semester, he managed to get his classes grouped together (like three in a row), so he’ll have big blocks of time to work or study.

As cali said it really depends where the two buildings are. If you’re going from UTC to an engineering building, you’ll barely make it if you walk fast. Sometimes professors let you out 10 or 15 min early…some do 5 min early and some go over a minute on the clock. The grace period is also up to the professor. It just really depends on the professor & where the building is located.

^Agreed. Do not depend on the grace period to walk/bike across campus. Some professors don’t care about going overtime, and you might end up not making it on time. Just make sure if you want to group your classes, they are near each other. I always group my classes together, but thats only because they are very close to each other.
