As an upcoming freshmen I've been trying to figure out my schedule, but I had a question. Is it better to have back to back classes or have a break between them?

You want at least one break for say lunch-time/nap-time/shower/catch up on homework etc.

Like to have two back-to-back classes an hour break and then another class would be nice.
Yep.

I mean some people like to get it done asap but, it really is nice to take a break.

Back to back classes are usually a good idea unless the first class is a class that is hard for you/very important to you. With a class like that, you want to be able to stay after for a bit if you want to, to finish your notes or ask the prof a question. You don’t want to be running off to another class right away.

There should be enough time to get from class to class with no break in between if you leave right away when the first class ends.

You get a 10 minute passing period MWF and 15 minutes TTh. For the TTh classes, I personally prefer a short gap in between since the classes are longer. For MWF, it depends on the time block. I’d say try to give an hour gap for lunch and leave the rest back to back to get them over with faster since those classes are usually just an hour.

Don’t schedule too many breaks between classes, or you’ll find yourself very bored and without big chunks of time later in the day to get work done.

I would recommend having nearly all back to back classes except an hour for lunch or dinner. If you live off campus, an hour break isn’t enough to do anything other than some reading. Most of the time you’re just on your laptop sitting around and waiting for your next class to start. This gets old very fast.
