Scheduling Question

Hey guys,

Well, I am enrolled in the LSM at Penn and recently spoke with an advisor for the program. He insisted that I should look at my "recommended schedule" as I consider signing up for summer courses at my local CC/state university. Basically, he said that I will be taking all the classes below for my first year and that I should consider trying to test out of some of these courses. So, below is the schedule and I would GREATLY appreciate some insight on a couple of points:

First semester Second Semester
LSMP 121 STAT 101
BIOL 121 BIOL 124
Econ 010 OPIM 101
MGMT 100 Writing Seminar
SPAN 130 SPAN 140

So, is this schedule doable for a freshman? Additionally, I hear that BIOL 121 BLOWS regarding its curve. Would it be wise to invest time studying for this class over the summer and try to test out of it via the departmental exam (I am a bio major though)?

Thanks,
Robbie

MGMT 100 is a class that involves a LOT outside of the classroom. I just took this course and i’d say it gets to around 20 hours a week of meeting with your team outside of class.

BIOL 121, I took freshman year and it was alright. I wouldn’t say that the curve is that harsh.30% As is normal.
Econ 10 is easy

If anything, you might want to shift your spanish courses 1 semester back. Take 4 classes first semester, see how you like it.

So, if I take the equivalent of a spanish 4 at my cc…will Penn relieve of doing it at college?

Nope, I read somewhere that Penn doesn’t accept comcollege/2 year college credits. But you can test out of the requirements.
