scheduling/telebears help

I'm an incoming freshman majoring in Environmental Science and my telebears appointment is on July 26 at 8:00 AM. I've been monitoring the open spaces for ESPM 50 AC which I plan to sign up for since all of the R&C classes that I am interested in are either full or close to full. ESPM 50 AC still has 27 open spaces, but the waitlist number rose from 44 to 55 just today. In the course restrictions, it says open seating is full. Does this mean they will keep on adding to the waitlist?

Now about scheduling. If I get into ESPM 50 AC, I'll have three classes stacked together. I'll have to go from Lewis to Dwinelle to Pimentel. Is that manageable?

Last thing, if I don't get ESPM 50 AC, any recommendations for an easy first half R&C class?

Thanks.

As far as 50AC goes, let me tell you, i’m an envisci major as well and pretty much i’ve been told it’s IMPOSSIBLE to get into that class esp as a lower division student. it’s a super popular very easy way to satisfy the AC requirement, so everyone’s trying to get in. so yea, they’ll keep adding to the waitlist.

for scheduling, you should know (this question has come up 1000x on this thread) that things operate on “berkeley time”, meaning a class that starts at 10:00 actually starts at 10:10, so you can make it to the classes. get a bike if you’re a slow walker. if you dont get AC (and you probably wont), i’ve heard the easiest RC classes are the more obscure. German, russian, celtic studies. hope that helped!

I know about Berkeley time, I was just wondering if I could get from Dwinelle to Pimentel in 5 minutes or less. On the campus map they seem somewhat far apart. All of the German R&C classes seem to be full or going to the waitlist so I’ve narrowed it down to Slavic or Scandinavian (also may waitlist for Italian). Well thanks for your help, I feel better about that pesky R&C requirement now.

ESPM 50AC is a popular course b/c everybody thinks it is an easy class to get an A. It is, but there are other AC courses that are even easier. Don’t be such in a rush to get rid of your AC. In fact, the AC is the only opportunity that Cal allows to choose an elective that you want. Spend a semester here, explore other courses, then choose out of 40~50 AC course that really interests you. (if you are indeed interested in ESPM, then screw what I said)

From my experience, it takes around 5-10 minutes, depending on how fast you walk.
