I was somewhat confused as to how to schedule a Tufts interview, and I want to make sure I'm doing it right because the system seems a little unusual.

Is the process that we submit the Common App Tufts supplement and then Tufts will contact us for an interview? I'm applying EDII if that makes a difference. I'm in love with Tufts and I want to make sure I don't screw it up over something simple like this. Thanks!

That’s how it was for RD. I think there was a box you had to check (or not check) on the CommonApp to be contacted for an interview. I imagine it is likely the same for EDII.

Yeah they contact you. My person just sent me an email ad we set up a time for next week.

Yep, there’s a little box on the supplement to check if you want an alumni interview. They contact you after receiving your application. If you don’t live anywhere near an alumni, you won’t get contacted, but I’m assuming that applies mostly to Siberia and certain regions of Montana.

Good luck! I love Tufts too :)

Thanks, guys! I was PRETTY sure checking the box was all we needed to do but glad that’s confirmed. I live about half an hour away, so finding an alum shouldn’t be a problem haha.
Good luck to everyone with apps, and hope to see you all at Tufts next year :D

What does one wear to a Tufts alumni interview (jacket and tie or just collared shirt?)? The interview is being held at the end of the day at his office–he is a doctor. Also, should I bring resume/transcript or any other information?

Dress code: respectful, but comfortable. If you’d feel more at ease in a jacket/tie, go for it. Otherwise, a collared shirt ought to be fine.

Leave your transcript at home. And while you don’t need to bring a resume with you, you’re welcome to do so if you’d like.

Also, if he’s a doctor, make plans that will allow you to stay late if necessary. You never know if he might be running behind or have a serious medical issue to deal with.
