You never know so I'd go for it. There just may be something in your ec's that catches an adcom's eye. If you have everything ready, send it- it can't hurt. At least you would be finished!

most likely you will not be invited to interview for a scholarship, but you never know.

Someone said the essay is important.

Umm who else realized last night that the Alumni Scholarships were due on the 10th and that they required a SEPARATE APP?? I churned out an essay in 20 minutes, so we'll see what happens I guess.

Yeah, I just realized that after the deadlines have passed that there were scholarships that required a separate application.

D:

when would they notify us about interviews/ scholarship info?

and also, if they do contact us for one, that means we're in, right?

They will usually send you the acceptance first- then you get the notice of interview. If anyone is interested to see stats of those who got scholarship interviews, take a look at this thread. Most of those who posted before 3/1 (with some overlap) got scholarship interviews.

what do you mean the scholarship required a sepereate app?

There are some special scholarships like the Scion Scholarship (for legacies) that require a special app.

Turning in the regular app by Dec. 10 qualifies you for USC General Scholarships- no special app for that. (Trustee, Presidential, Deans)

USC College : Scholarships

well, i applied for the alumni scholarship, but i'm not sure if i'll be called back for an interview. do u think i have a chance?

any thoughts?

im hoping my 35 will pull through for a trustee! j'adore USC!!!

wow..i just realized i have a lot of ecs lol

holy frikkin crap dude....I hope you didn't put ALL of those down in your app. A lot of adcoms told me that a long long laundry list generally doesn't look very good.

Honestly, I don't think either of you will get trustee or presidential simply because of your standardized test scores. Despite what people say, USC is a whore for high SAT/ACT scores. All the trustee/presidential I know are well into the 2200's SAT. I don't know about ACT though. Bump them up though, and you'll be good, especially Cameron K. Although I also hope you didn't put all that on your app. Might give the wrong impression to the adcom.

So the Trustee/Presidential scholarships are only based on SAT scores or do they look at ECs and other factors as well?

Last year I got invited to interview for Trustee and I had a 32 ACT so I don't think they base everything strictly on test scores.
