Scholarhip consideration

I am really really disappointed in my essay. I dont think that its very good at all, and I know I have written better ones for other colleges since then.
I hope they dont really care about the essay very much... I'm more hoping its a scholarship to lure the high test scores to give USC a boost with the students that will make them look better.
Hopefully a 35, 2240, and 780 math2 and 730 US will get me in, despite a truly Uninspiring, contrived essay.
I'll keep ya posted I guess!
USC is by far my number one school, and due to weird family financial stuff as of right now, no way my dad is paying for it... and even less chance I'll get financial aid from the school.

You're probably in...I mean, it would be a different story if your ACT is a 31 or 32...but you got a 35.

Hey busiman-
Do you think you got invited because you had a lot of ECs, good teacher recs, good essays, etc? It's so nerve-wracking to wait for the end of January x)

Well, I did have really good recommendations (one was awesome), and i didnt have too many ECs but i had a few that were pretty good, and my essays were all very good (i tried to really stress my passion for learning and i think i did that well). I also had a 4.0 UW gpa (taking the hardest classes offered), so that might have helped. Overall, i think it was that the adcoms got a real sense of the kind of person i was (academically) through things other than test scores and gpa, like recs and essays.

Oh I see :) Thanks!
