Scholarhips @ the UW

I know that since its a state school, the UW doesn't offer a lot of merit-based aid. However, I still have some questions about certain scholarships that I hope some people have answers to...

Does anybody know anything about:
The President's and Mary Gates Scholarship?
Diversity Scholar Award Program?
Washington Scholars?

I was awarded the UW Undergraduate Scholar Award, which got me interested in any other scholarships that they offer. How much need do you have to have for the Diversity scholarship? What is the criteria for the President's and Mary Gates Scholarship? Is anybody a past Washington Scholar, or does anyone know the process for possibly becoming one?

Thanks in advance to anybody who might have some answers to any of my questions... I really appreciate it!

do you have to apply for those? Or is it automatically entered?

I think all of them are automatically entered except for the Washington Scholar one. I'm not sure about the Diversity Scholar Award Program.

Are there any out of state scholarships?

yup, there's one just for out of state students. i forgot what it is called but you should check it out on their website.

i applied before the priority deadline (dec. 1). they said applying before this deadline, you will be considered for merit scholarships. when do they notify you?

i was notified a couple of days after i received my acceptance letter

they didn't notify me on anything after I got my acceptance. Didn't even tell me whether I was denied a scholarship or not.
