wait, is this just for regents scholarship recipients? Has UCSD sent out notifications about other scholarships?

Thanks and Regards.

i'm not sure...i know that i got the regents invite for ucla and uc berkeley (you still have to apply and go through a competitive process before you get it), but nothing from ucsd just yet

i don't even know if this scholar's day is connected in any way to ucsd's regents scholarships, or whether ucsd offers regents scholarships at all...

essentially, i'm somewhat confused. sorry :-

lol im confused too... thats why I asked. Scholar's day seems like a good event to attend. I wish I were invited.

The event will have maybe 5 hundred to 750 invited students. These are the kids the school is actively recruiting. All will be admitted. The scholarships will be awarded to the top kids from this pool who actually enroll.

As for the scholarships:

If I read this right, there is no interview for Regents. It's all by the numbers. But read it yourself, I might have missed something. For Chancellors it seems like other things might be considered.

great! that answered all our questions--thanks!

now they personally phone and email me and extend the dealine for me to go..

but i won't/can't go....
... but then i don't want to feel bad by not replying them back at all... :(

should i reply saying i will not go blahblahblah?

Thanks, Joemama.
Just curious: So if a student gets a scholarship, he/she will not know until they decide to go to UCSD? Or will the notification be sent with the admission letter?

Not absolutely sure. I'll ask at Scholars Day and find out exactly how UCSD does it, but I would guess that notification would be sent with the admissions letter since it would be an inducement to enroll.

thanx! I won't be able to go to scholar's day this friday.

qtpie: Scheduling just made me "iffy" about getting to Scholars Day. However...

I called and talked with someone in Financial Aid and they told me that Regents Scholars will be notified in their Admit Letters, which makes sense.

did anyone go to scholar's day yesterday? what was it like?

couldn't make it to Scholar's Day. Anybody else?

scholars' day was nice, first everyone was split by college, then got to meet with honors program students, academic advisors, and department representatives. anyone know what day ucsd typically mails letter (anxious about regents) OR if regents info is posted online?
