Not sure what kind of stats you need for this, but i'm guessing it's academic so you would need at least 4.0 uc gpa and 2250+ SAT?

They sent it by mail; no emails or status changes on websites

you don't need a 2250 SAT. I got it two years ago when I was a senior and I had a 2170.

I got a 2150 on the SAT. I'm Asian. And I got it.

Does not going to the Scholars Day hurt you in any way?

nope.

scholar's day is their attempt to schmooze you into attending UCSD -- you're pretty much accepted, aren't you? compare that to admit day (like open house for the masses) and you'll see which population of students UCSD wants more.

So, how do those two events look like, compared to each other?

uhh....how about going off the agendas posted on the UCSD admissions home page?

Scholars' Day

so who's going?

I got an email today.

Titled: "Welcome to UCSD's John Muir College!"

"Dear Elisa,

On behalf of all of us at Muir, I’m writing to tell you how pleased we are that you decided to apply to UCSD and to John Muir College.

UCSD recently sent you an invitation to visit UCSD as part of our Scholars’ Day Program on March 7, 2008. I hope that you’re planning to attend. We’ll be pleased to welcome members of your family as well. Scholars’ Day gives prospective students a great chance to get to know the campus and to learn more about the opportunities that UCSD offers to talented, high-achieving students."

etc etc etc

My stats were:
4.5 uc gpa / 4.0 UW
rank (i know uc's dont look at this tho): 1/688
SAT: 2060 BUT ACT was 34
good ec's, good essays

I also got Berkeley regents the day before receiving the Scholar's Day invite..

I don't think I'm going to go, mainly because my sis goes to UCSD and im already familiar w/the campus and life there.

^ does that email mean you've been accepted? it doesn't seem to say so explicitly :p

^ haha i don't know ;p
but they're not really supposed to tell you you've been accepted until mid-march..

but i guess if you received the scholar's invite, then you're in.

I got 2 letters and this email :
Dear [ Real Name XP ],

On behalf of Warren College and the Honors Program, I would like to extend a personal invitation to you to attend Scholars’ Day on Friday, March 7. We are eager to meet you!
...
...

a lot of people from my school got it..
no berk regents for me =

Any CCers who attended the Scholars Day today?
Can you let us know if they announced that you have been admitted.

Apparently they did last year:
You’ll Like to Be at UCSD

Yes, they announced at the very beginning that all are admitted. But the official date will be March 15 when the online status will be changed. I suspect many other students will know about their status on that date as well.

where does one check the online status?
