I got a letter from Ucsd today inviting me to their Scholars' Day.
It starts out with saying "congratulations, you are one of the top freshman applicants to ucsd." Does this mean I've been accepted?
Also has anyone attended scholars' day before? What do you do there?

yeah, you're in.

a bit of googling (as well as going through CC archives) will give you more details.

During scholars day, they first tell you that you are admitted, then split you up based on what college you were admitted to (whichever one you put 1st on your application). Then they take you to your college, you learn about the Honors program, they give you a mini-tour of dorms/dining hall, you get to talk to some current students one-on-one ... then you eat at the dining hall for lunch, and it's free! They invite some professors from different departments for lunch also so you can talk to some of them too. Then I think later in the day, they have info sessions for all the different departments - engineering, physical sciences, biology, social sciences, humanities.... you can go to whichever one you want.

This is all I remember, but I went 3 years ago!... so they might have changed the schedule slightly :)

For those who have gotten it so far, could you post your stats?

thats so awesome, did you get this via email or snail mail? and where do you live / when is it post marked?

it'd be so cool to get one of these ...

I heard they started sending them, Monday.
I'm not certain, though.

@Sophicles, I was ELC with 3.91 uw, and 4.5 UC weighted. My sat was 800c, 700m, 710w, 2210 total.
I received it via snail mail in california.

^ Congrats.

Wallkill, You are in and you are in Honor program since your SAT Math, Reasoning and Writing cores are 700 and better.

I check my snail mail today and got one too, pretty psyched since SD was one of my top choices. Probably won't be visiting for scholars day though (this isn't required right?) since I've already been on campus and that would require a 400 mi + drive down to Socal.

my stats are
ELC
4.27 UC weighted
730 CR, 800 Math, 660 WR = 2190 total

and I applied for bioengineering biotech.
=]

Congrats to all who got one! Does anyone know if this invitation to Scholars' Day has anything to do with Regents as well?

You can get Regents if you did not get Scholars' Day, this was true for a friend of mine who applied for bioengineering which I assume gets a lot of strong applicants.

The reverse is true as well-you can get Scholars' Day and not get Regents. Regents comes out with the decision usually.

Wow, so it really means that we're in? I was rather skeptical when I first got the letter but now I'm super excited!!

Stats:
ELC Southern CA
4.40-ish UC weighted
33 ACT

Chem Engineering!

I just got one, too! 4.4 ish weighted and 800 math, 800 writing, and 770 CR.
Seems like it'd be a fun day :)
