As my son a freshman (Physics/Math Major) and completed his 1st semester in UMBC, he explored to become Meyerhoff Scholar. He learned that this program was closed for UMBC students. He is not able find STEM based scholarships via http://financialaid.umbc.edu/scholarships/ (Scholarship Retriever).
What are the pathways available for him to become scholar in UMBC?
Thanks for your suggestion. I did review this link already. Most of them are for incoming freshman.
It says at the bottom:
With the exception of the Cyber Scholars Program and Sherman Teacher Education Scholars Program, the scholars programs are open only to incoming freshman applicants.
His STEM Majors are not falling in Cyber Scholars Program OR Sherman Teacher Education Scholars Program.
Maybe try calling the school, or better yet, have your son contact his adviser and/or financial aid to see if he/she knows of any scholarship programs that he may qualify for. Adviser will probably appreciate his initiative. He could even speak to some of his STEM professors…
