Does anyone know what kind of stats they look for, for the Sholars program? SAT scores, GPA etc>> Thanks!!

They told us that leadership in extracurriculars is definitely taken into account, so it’s about the whole package not just numbers. I don’t think the stats are officially posted anywhere and no one in the program really talks about it, but if it helps, me and my roommate both had 34 ACTs and A+ GPAs.

Thank you! Do you enjoy the program?

It’s okay. I don’t mean to sound ungrateful but I can’t really point to anything that it’s actually done for me as far as opportunities. Sometimes it’s more of an annoyance than anything because there are all these requirements you need to complete. Getting priority registration is great, though! I’m not even kidding when I say the whole thing is worth it for that.

It’s probably my fault though, because I know a lot of people in the program who have taken on a full leadership role within it and made it a huge part of their lives on campus. I definitely had a more passive attitude about it and didn’t really go out of my way to do anything other than the bare minimum. It’s probably too late now to start, haha.

The people I know who were in it (they finished the requirements a while ago) didn’t think it added much. They liked the early registration.

Now, they also have housing for scholars, so you get that too.

Thanks for your input. It’s always nice to hear from those who are actually in the program. Good luck to you!
