Scholars program

when do they select and inform finalists? is there a semi-finalist round?

While I know that there is no semi-finalist round (only finalists are selected), I am not sure about exactly when we will be informed. When I called the office of undergraduate admissions, they said mid March (but it could be earlier or later). Good luck!

My D got an email on 2/20 last year.

Wow! I am so excited. I didn't think that it would be so soon. What scholars program did your daughter apply for last year?

do they announce danforth around 2/20 too?

She applied for Lien. I don't know about Danforth. There is always the possibility that they will inform later this year. Good Luck to all of you!

just curious...did any of yall apply for the Friends of Music scholarship, or know of anyone who did?

Decision letters for the University Scholars Programs will be mailed Mid-March, Letters for the Danforth will be mailed March 1st and Fellowship and scholarship decision letters will be mailed February 25th (Engineering).

Do you only get a letter if you get an award or do you get a rejection letter if you did not get anything?

I was told that all applicants will receive a letter one way or another on the Danforth and the Fellowships. I forgot to ask about the Scholars.

btw - There were "over 600" applicants for the Engineering Fellowships and academic scholarships! So - just figure that ALL of the 250 - 300 students that accept a spot in SEAS are competing against each other for them! LOL

Does anyone know when Mylonas applicants will be notified?

And how do you pronounce "Mylonas"? Haha, I've been wondering for the longest time.

wow feb 25 ? thats not too far away....

You get a letter in March to say you got rejected, but if you're a finalist, I think you find that out earlier...so....no news is bad news I think

Thanks for updating us on the mailing dates, CopterMom.

Will applicants also be notified by email?

Sweetdreams87, are you already a finalist? If so, congrats! Which scholarship are you a finalist of?

The only information I could get on the Scholars Program was that they would snail mail only - no emails - and that everyone would hear good or bad. Very vague on the date. She would only say decisions would be sent Mid-March.

No emails for Fellowship or scholarship decisions. (Engineering and Art/Sci)

Arts and Sciences scholarships - decisions will be mailed "on or around March 1st".

Couldn't get in touch with the office that handles the Rodriguez and Erwin programs. In meetings today.

Good Luck to all!

Oh, I'm not a finalist--just reading posts from the old bulletin boards here. I applied for Lien.

Dreamside, I understand it's mill a nus with the accent on the mill.

Oh no, I was hoping they would email. This means I will find out a week later than most other applicants do.

Sweetdreams87: I see. Good luck on Lien and Danforth!

If you haven't heard yet, it's bad news. I'm a finalist and got my email Monday morning.

(Hello - I'm Erin from Florida - I found this site while looking up info on the Honorary Scholars weekend. :) )

congrats Erin...my S heard yesterday also. It's very exciting!
