Scholarship and grant after freshman year?

Do they change annually?
Like, if i do well, do they offer scholarship?
And also, does the amount of grant change over years?
They offered virtually nothing this year and i am hoping they would give me some money next year if i decide to attend.

Also, how many scholarship opportunities are present at UT Austin?
I will be going into chemical engineering.

Grants are need-based and are awarded according to your FAFSA information, which is updated annually. Even if your information remains constant, funds available to UT may vary from year to year, so it is impossible to predict at this point. State funds are (mostly) set 2 years at a time, but are awarded to students annually. As you’ve probably already heard, all state financial aid funding is on the chopping block and schools may not know until late June/July what state funds are available. If your EFC is below $4000 and you submitted your FAFSA by March 1, you may still be offered state grant funds once allocations are set -but no guarantees at this point.

Scholarships are awarded annually (generally -a few are 4 year awards) based on the information you include in the scholarship applications. You must apply, scholarships are not automatically awarded, even to students with 4.0 GPAs. You’ll be able to apply for the UT Continuing Student scholarships, TexasExes scholarships [Texas Scholarships](http://www.texasscholarships.org/) , and Engineering scholarships [Scholarships - Cockrell School of Engineering](<a href=“Financial Support”>Financial Support) . Be sure to watch the due dates -they vary! The Cockrell website will have links to other engineering scholarship applications and the TxScholarships site has links to scholarships from outside donors. The “Featured Scholarships” are updated throughout the year. Keep checking and apply as new ones are posted!

Also ask your parents if their employers offer scholarships. Many companies use Scholarship America to administer their private scholarships: [Scholarship Programs - College Scholarships from Scholarship America .](Browse Scholarships in the Student Hub - Scholarship America)
