<p>i was proceeding my application and i saw that
if i wanna be selected to be merit-based scholar, check box.
does it hurt my chances if i say yes or does it not matter...
(i'm international but I go high school in U.S)</p>

<p>I wanna do eco for now, but since eco at U of Chicago is #1 in the world
would i need to choose something else just in case choosing eco
would hurt my chances? or does it not matter.</p>

<p>There is no need to even mention a major, Chicago does not require one to declare a major until the end of one's second year.</p>
