Scholarship Application- Five Works

Does anyone know if for the five works section of the University of Arkansas scholarship application, if it would look better to have books with literary merit? Or can I just use any books that I have enjoyed reading?

For mine, I used a bit of both. I chose Hamlet, The Invisible Man, Lord of the Flies, and two others I can’t recall. Obviously the ones I chose had substantiated literary merit, but don’t base it all on that. They want to know what appealed to you and what sets you apart. They don’t want a carbon copy of what everyone else is going to say. :)

Okay, thanks! Cause none of mine have literary merit! But a couple were nonfiction books about topics I’m interested in majoring in, so hopefully that will help.
